Day 1 - SWISS ALPS – PISA
Early morning departure - at noon we reach the Swiss Alps, and enjoy the great scenery. Early evening we will arrive in Pisa, and check into our comfortable hotel. Dinner at the hotel restaurant is included.
Day 2 - PISA – ROME
After breakfast we will visit the “Field of Miracles,” the site of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Time to shop for souvenirs and have lunch, before we head south to Rome. Upon arrival in Rome in the early evening, we check into our hotel. Also tonight's 'Christmas Eve Dinner" is included.
Day 3 - CHRISTMAS IN ROME
Merry Christmas! After breakfast, we are off to St Peter’s Basilica for the Christmas Mass, followed by the official Papal Blessing on St Peter’s Square. It is broadcast around the world - and will be a memory to cherish forever! In the afternoon, our walking tour of Rome will include the Coliseum, the Forum, the Pantheon, and of course the Trevi Fountain (don’t forget to toss a coin). Tonight, join in for a delicious 'Christmas dinner' at a typical Roman Trattoria (€59).
Day 4 - POMPEII – SORRENTO
Today, our Italian adventure will take us to the Gulf of Naples, where we first visit Pompeii, which was buried by erupting Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. The secrets of ancient Roman life are revealed by our local guide as we tour the excavations. Scenic drive to Sorrento, a famed resort located on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Time for lunch (€25), to shop, and to explore before we drive back to Rome.
Day 5 - VATICAN – TUSCANY
In the morning, time to shop around the Vatican, or visit Saint Angel‘s Castle, or join a tour of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel (by local agency.( approx €80)). After lunch, we say “Arrivederci Roma” and drive north into the hills of Tuscany. Tonight, savor “la dolce vita” at our Tuscan gala dinner with live music entertainment, and wine (€79).
Day 6 – FLORENCE
Our walking tour of Florence features the Cathedral of Florence, Piazza Signoria, and the Santa Croce church (tomb of Michelangelo). Time for your own explorations and to shop for leather, gold jewelry, and Tuscan specialties. Afternoon departure and midnight return to Ramstein.
